What to Expect

Counseling can feel mysterious, and one of the major reasons is that many of us don't know the resources available or steps to take to connect with a mental health professional.

As much as possible, I feel it's important to try and provide the steps of what you can expect regarding scheduling a consultation and what the process looks like moving forward.

Why can't counselors treat everyone?

Just like other professions, counselors have areas of specialization where they focus on crafting their skill set. Not every challenge related to your mental and emotional well-being is supported the same. I am committed to making sure that you receive the support you deserve to get to where you want to be.

1

Send an email through the Work with Me page to schedule your free 15-minute consultation.

You will receive an email response within 24 - 48 hours

to find a time to connect.

2

The initial consultation.

During the initial consultation, we will explore the reasons that you are looking for mental health support and how they are impacting you.

*You will not be expected to share more than you are comfortable with, it's only 15 minutes and we don't know each other!

3

What happens after the initial consultation?

You will receive the intake paperwork through email and will receive confirmation of your first session appointment date.

4

What if we are not a good fit?

It happens - if it is determined by either party that your needs are not being met, counselor recommendations can be discussed to help get you where you want and deserve to be.

Session Rate: $150/session

I am considered an Out of Network (OON) Provider with health insurance plans. Most plans do provide OON benefits, however, it is always best to verify with your insurance company.

If you would like to use your OON benefits, you will pay the full fee at the time of your appointment. At the end of the month, you will be provided a receipt called a Superbill to submit to your insurance. Many insurance plans with OON benefits will provide at least partial reimbursement to clients and may allow you to use your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to cover your payments. When you verify your OON benefits with your insurance company, it is good to also get clarification about what reimbursement for OON services looks like.
